Ponche - Mexican Ponche - Hot or cold fruit punch Easy to make
Mexican Ponche is a joyous fruit punch made with apples, hawthorn, oranges, guavas, pineapple, plum, raisins and spices like cinnamon, cloves, hibiscus, anise, and Piloncillo for a delightful sweetness. Heat 4-10 cups of water in a pot and stir in the contents of the jar. For an extra-sweet flavor, add a fruit juice like apple or pineapple juice. Simmer for 10 minutes until the Piloncillo liquefies and enjoy the tasty fruit in your drink.
Optional: spike with tequila or mescal. This is a hot drink like cider and can be sweetened to taste with sugar or sugar substitutes like agave. If there is still fruit left, add a few more cups of water and boil for more Ponche!
Plastic reusable jar.
